Final Home Called Havelock

Assalamualaikum folks,

So i just finished moving my stuffs into my new house. The final house in Sheffield, finally. Feels so fast lah huh. Rasa macam baru semalam datang Sheffield. Aiyaa but whatever it is, we gotta cherish the moments ayte?! :)

Gg do pindah rumah. Dah lah baru balik from Austria travelling. (I'll blog about that later okay?) Luckily i have my dearest boyfriend and classmate to help me out with it. Thanks Fareed and Zahir! 😛👊🏼  Five trips using Yafai's trolley hahaha yknow me ever so many stuff. All important okayyyy 😅 (yeah i know i know, dont give me the face 😛). Cant imagine not having the trolley haha bless you Yafai :)

Alhamdulillah pretty satisfied with everything tho. Cuz i actually gambled saying yes to this house. It was last minute decision. Never even viewed this house haha. Got the front room with an okay view :) Feels more like a neighbourhood. & this house has 2 toilets and showers. Very very plus point okay! Hahahaha & landlord, Mr Asif ( also my previous' house landlord) changed the carpet. Terbenam je kaki dekat carpet tu bila menapak. Lovely jubbly!! Also our curtains are pink and velvet! Gotta love Mr Asif for being understanding man. Love you lots man! God bless you!!

I got good feeling for this house. Keep the positive vibes coming home! Well till then, my stuff cant unpack themselves dont they haha. Bye!

Just a portion of my importante stuffs hehe

Life Update kononnya

Assalamualaikum old folks,

I am sorry I didn't update about my life here in UK that frequent anymore (or worst, none for this term!). Obviously was so busy and still am. And definitely more workload and commitments.

One of the reason i still have not give up on this blog is simply because writing posts improves my writing skill (i hope) and helps me develop my cognitivity and vocabulary as well as verbally (because i tend to speak what's in my mind out loud haha).

Nothing much going on with life except my exams are in 2 weeks and wallahu I just started revising my notes for the first time because I was too focused on my third year project before. Yet i still have to meet my supervisor next week. Hence, extra work for researching. Oh oh got 6/10 for project presentation that day. Was pretty excited because that was the first official formal presentation in the UK. Time for suit up, aint it?! Hahaha and and last weekend, Sheffield had snow falling for an hour :D Not to forget my Sheffield Malaysian Games, we're working real hard to make it the best for players and everyone who will come. Dont forget, 20th Feb 2016 hehehe.

That's all that I could think for now. More pictures soon maybe. Chiow!

Yang ikhlas, cantik dan solehah,
Amirah Nasir.

Ponteng kelas

Assalamualaikum folks,

Universiti tempat berfikir (Sir Nasir, 2014).

I was just done with my advance final paper. Leaving me with 40 credits paper to fight on next month. And it got me thinking lah. Macam mana? Macam mana student (assume they're smartpants) yang tak pergi kelas, and yet still excels? Being smart is a thing lah, but having someone explaining and delivering is crucial, I must say. Not going to classes because you can study on your own, isn't it like defeating the process of learning?

Personally, I believe that even if we do not favor our lecturers, we still need to go to classes. It is impossible to not get anything from them (or in fact, everyone that crossed our path in life!). Rugilah kalau dah belajar overseas, masuk universiti terkemuka, dapat lecturer berpangkat Dr dan Prof, tapi kita tak berkejar kejar nak menuntut ilmu. And something different in the UK, lecturers do not like students to just come knocking on their door without informing earlier. But if we had, be sure to come on time. Unlike in Malaysia, we can just knock and ask bila bila. Best part is, if it is during their lunch break or after office hours, our lecturers in Malaysia will still entertain us. How berbudi bahasa and considerate of them nak menolong anak bangsa. Having to experience both local and abroad education system is such a blessing! :)

Disclaimers: I wrote the script before pergi exam sebenarnya, nak eased nervous. Kononnya.

Aftermaths revision for paper Chemical Engineering Design.

And me, after the paper, at the city hahaha

Yours truly,
Amirah Nasir.

Gerak by tram at 7.00pm then waited till 8.45pm for The Script to finally perform. Sang along with these people. Of songs from both old and new album. Breakeven, Six Degrees of Separation, Man on a Wire, Superheroes, If You Could See Me Now, No Good In Goodbye, Never Seen Anything Quite Like You, The Man Who Can't Be Moved and sooooo many more!

IT WAS REALLY 2 HOURS OF AMAZING PERFORMANCE!

Another memorable night :)

Enjoyed,
Amirah Nasir.

The Prep

Assalamualaikum.

For months after finals in MICET I have been preparing the documents and stuff to UK. The times I had to follow mum to KL are countless. Listed are just a few steps.

The documents are:
1. Passport. First things first, you just can't proceed with anything without it. Make sure to bring a document stating you're going abroad to study. For my case, it's MARA agreement or, university conditional offer letter will do.

2. ATAS certificate. The online application is just complicated and such a nuisance. Not to mention, you have to be very careful with the modules you'll taking. It takes you up to 20 working days for the certificate. Mine took less than that but mind you, my friend got it only after a 6 weeks. Worrying! And stressful!

3. CAS Statement. You'll get this usually after you received the unconditional offer letter from the university you'll be attending. It's very important!

4. TB Test. There are only 6 health centres that are recognised by the UK goverment, nearest to me is the Lifecare in Bangsar South. So, situ je buat. It cost about RM210.

5. Medical Checkup. You could just download the form kalau MARA or you scholar bagi lambat. It's always the same borang for MARA. Doing it together with TB test can save you a few puluh ringgit!

6. The Ultimate VISA. Yes, to get this done. You have a list of things to settle, such as above! Well, nowadays ade appointment je, no more walk ins. My time, I had to pay $530. I'm sure this will increase. And mind you, it is only for the process. If anything goes wrong throughout the process, guess you'll have to pay double (the second time), just like my friend. It depends on the date and time you apply the visa, I advice you to go 10 to 12 in the morning. Not so many people, you can end everything by an hour or less. The process? Easy. Go to 3rd floor, hand in your documents for checking purpose then proceed to 19th floor. You'll be called twice. Once to hand over the documents, second time for biometrics purpose. Then done. Wait for a week, you'll receive 2 emails. One from Manila, saying your visa will be despatched and another saying your visa reach the application centre.

And I highly recommend you to just stay outside the campus.
It's way cheaperrrr! Uni accommodation can cost up to GBP 500 while staying outside paling mahal pun GBP 300. Tu pun actually expensive. Memang tak inclusive internet, gas and electricity. But why pay for the public kitchenette, living room, common rooms and facilities when you're not gonna use it often pun. And the local people makes a lot of noise, they're very loud. Not to forget, partied really hard.

My group from UniKL had to attend 3 camps. Banyak sangat camp that we called it as BTN 1.0 (the real one), BTN 2.0 (the islamic one, plus keselamatan negara) and BTN 3.0 (pre departure that turns out to be like a vaca for us). Sumpah tak masuk akal, but we went anyway.
